What to Expect during our Services
Announcements:
Before each assembly of the saints (except Wednesday evening), a man will make several announcements concerning things that might be of interest to the congregation. Members are encouraged to listen to updates of those who are in need of our prayers because of ailments or other situations.Singing:
As the Bible commands in Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, we practice congregational singing. Our singing is designed both to edify one another and to offer praise to God. While always trying our best, we try not to focus on the sound of our singing, because we know that God is interested in the melody that is made in our hearts.Praying:
At different times during our services, men will be asked to lead a word of prayer. These men will then approach our Father in prayer and offer words to Him from the congregation. Everyone is urged to silently join in with the leader in making supplication to God. Some will offer an amen (so be it) at the end of the prayer.Bible Class:
On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, classes are offered to all ages. In the adult class, specific Bible passages will be taught and discussed. We are adamant about focusing our studies squarely upon the words of God. Children's classes are not about entertainment but about solid teaching.Sermon:
On Sunday morning and evening, the majority of our service is devoted to hearing a lesson prepared by the preacher or a man of the congregation. This lesson will be an explanation from the word of God. We urge everyone to open their Bibles and examine the things that are being taught, following the example of the Bereans in Acts 17.Lord’s Supper:
As per the instructions of our Lord, we meet on the first day of the week to remember the death of Jesus on the cross. Selected men will pass the fruit of the vine and the bread for the members of the church to partake.Giving of Our Means:
After the Lord’s Supper is over, the men will pass around a collection plate. This is an opportunity for the members of the congregation to give money so that the work of this local church can continue.Contact A Member:
